Over the festive period, as Christmas parties and family celebrations are taking place, there is often an increased police presence on the roads as vigilance rises for drink-driving. Last Christmas, nearly 50,000 breathalyser tests were conducted in the UK and over 6000 people were arrested under the Police’s Operation Limit. This operation targeted drink-driving offences, which often peak in December.
